We will be taking a guided 1 hour tour of two exhibitions, and we will be free to tour the rest of the museum afterwards at our leisure.

Meet the Presidents and the Oval Office: The Meet the Presidents Gallery traces, through artwork and objects, the evolution of the presidency and executive branch and how presidents have interpreted and fulfilled their leadership role. Highlights include the actual Bible used during George Washington’s inauguration in 1789 and a student scrapbook from 1962 chronicling JFK’s leadership during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Come take a picture at the replicate Resolute Desk!

New York Before New York: The Castello Plan of New Amsterdam: On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the Dutch founding of a colony that would give rise to New York, this special installation is organized around the Castello Plan, a map depicting New Amsterdam around the peak of its settlement circa 1660.

Lost in New York: Behold a bygone New York! This exhibition invites you into the places that once defined this city, from its river bathhouses to its elevated railways, the original Penn Station, old Croton Reservoir, Chinese Theater, and Pop Shop.
